|
Aligned to PRINCE2®, MSP® and Management of Risk (M_o_R®), P3O®
(an acronym for Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices) brings together a set of principles, processes and techniques — through
universally applicable guidance that enables individuals and organizations to establish, develop and maintain business support
structures — to deliver projects and programmes within an organization or a department within.
A P3O® model provides the structure, governance, functions and services required for defining a balanced portfolio
of change and ensuring consistent delivery of programmes and projects across an organization or department.
P3O® is a model with which a bridge is created between the temporary
change initiatives of the organization and the permanent 'business as usual' organization, with 3 possible functions:
- Support strategic decision-making concerning the portfolio of projects and programmes
- Support the delivery of results and benefits by projects and programmes
- Set up a central source of expertise for successful project and programme management

About the Training Course |
We offer this learning in multiple formats:
- P3O® Foundation
- P3O® Practitioner
- P3O® Foundation and
Practitioner
- P3O®
Practitioner Re-registration

The P3O® Foundation introduces you to the P3O® business case, models, their strategic objectives,
functions and services, roles and responsibilities, tools and techniques etc. whilst the Practitioner teaches you to apply it
practically to implementing and/or revitalize a P3O®.
The P3O® Foundation and Practitioner learning contains all of the training and materials required to attain both the
Foundation and Practitioner P3O® qualifications! Foundation and Practitioner each is conducted for three and two days
respectively, at the end of which you appear for the respective exam.
The combined course of Foundation and Practitioner learning provides guidance on —
- why, when and how to use P3O® models including the difference between portfolio, programmes and project
environments and their different requirements
- the value P3Os can bring to the organization including a business case, funding models and performance measures for establishing
a P3O®
- an overview of the different P3O® models with examples
- the functions/services and techniques/tools used by units of a P3O® model
The practitioner re-registration is a necessity for all P3O® practitioners every 3 to 5 years. No relearning is
involved. You can however choose to participate into the Practitioner workshop for a revision (fees chargeable). On passing
the exam, you will retain your accreditation for next five years.
